For Clients
1. Introduction
Welcome to Eco Carers. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) set out the agreement between you (“you”, “your”, or “Client”) and Eco Carers Ltd (“Eco Carers”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) when you use our platform to connect with self-employed carers.
By accessing or using our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Our Role
Eco Carers is an introductory platform. We:
- Connect Clients with vetted, self-employed carers.
- Provide tools for scheduling, messaging, and payment processing.
- Do not employ carers or directly provide care services.
All care services are delivered by independent carers who are solely responsible for the quality and conduct of the services they provide.
3. Client Eligibility
To use the Eco Carers platform, you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into contracts.
- Provide accurate and complete registration details.
- Agree to use the platform solely for lawful purposes.
4. Booking and Service Agreements
When engaging a Carer, both parties should agree on:
- Scope of care (e.g. personal care, companionship, domestic support).
- Hours and days of service.
- Hourly, weekly or daily rate.
- Any additional terms.
This agreement is strictly between you and the Carer. We recommend confirming all terms in writing using the messaging system provided.
5. Payments
- All payments must be made via the Eco Carers platform.
- Carers set their own rates, which are clearly displayed before booking.
- A platform service fee is included in the price, which supports administrative and safety functions.
- You will be invoiced after each completed session, with payment automatically processed through your chosen payment method.
- Payments must be made
- All payments for care services must be processed through the Eco Carers platform. By using our services, you agree to the following payment terms:
- After a Carer completes a session, Eco Carers will automatically generate an invoice based on the agreed rate and recorded hours.
- Payment will be collected from your registered payment method on the following Wednesday after the care session has taken place.
- You are responsible for ensuring that sufficient funds are available and that your payment method is valid and up to date.
- A service fee is included in the rate shown to you at the time of booking, which supports the operation and safety of the Eco Carers platform.
Cash or off-platform payments are strictly prohibited, as they undermine safety, accountability, and insurance coverage and will result in paying an introductory fee of £2800
6. Cancellations and Refunds
- You may cancel a scheduled session up to 24 hours in advance at no charge.
- Cancellations made within 24 hours may incur a cancellation fee, at the discretion of the Carer.
- If a Carer cancels or fails to attend without notice, please report this via our platform for investigation and support.
Refunds for unsatisfactory services will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact our support team promptly in such cases.
7. Responsibilities and Conduct
As a Client, you agree to:
- Treat Carers with dignity, fairness, and respect.
- Provide a safe and appropriate environment for care to be delivered.
- Inform the Carer of any relevant health or safety risks.
- Refrain from abusive, discriminatory, or inappropriate behaviour.
Eco Carers reserves the right to suspend or remove Clients who violate these standards.
8. Insurance and Liability
Carers using our platform are required to carry their own public liability insurance. However:
- Eco Carers does not accept liability for the actions or omissions of Carers.
- We are not responsible for any loss, injury, or damage arising from the care services provided.
- Clients are advised to consider their own insurance coverage where appropriate.
9. Confidentiality and Privacy
We are committed to safeguarding your privacy. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.
You must respect the confidentiality of any personal or sensitive information shared by the Carer during the provision of services.
10. Feedback and Dispute Resolution
We encourage open and honest feedback to maintain service quality.
- You may leave ratings and reviews after each booking.
- If a dispute arises, you should first try to resolve it directly with the Carer.
- If needed, Eco Carers can assist in mediating disputes. While we do not guarantee outcomes, we aim to support fair resolutions.
11. Suspension and Termination
Eco Carers may suspend or terminate your access to the platform if:
- You breach these Terms.
- You engage in fraudulent, abusive, or harmful conduct.
- Payment attempts fail or are reversed.
You may also close your account at any time by contacting us.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. You will be notified of any significant changes. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
